What makes you happy?

We all share a pretty similar routine from Monday to Friday. We get up in the morning, shower, eat breakfast, go to school, go home, eat dinner, (do something else) and then we go to bed. Then the alarm bell rings the next morning and we start it all again! When put like this, it all seems very boring, monotonous and repetitive... But is it? In reality, most people invest their time in 'things' that add meaning to their lives and break up the standard routines of every day. These things may take 10 minutes or 2 hours. We may do them once a day or once a week. These 'things' are generally called hobbies.

This homepage will be dedicated to the study of hobbies and recreational activities and how they can improve our lives, both physically and mentally. It is your job to post information that you find online and in the media to better inform the class about the benefits having special interests and pass times. You can then respond to other posts and share your ideas and opinions.

In addition, you will each set up a page where you will blog about a hobby of your choice. As you can see, mine is call 'Eat to live - Live to eat!' I chose to entitle it such because the 3 things in life that I enjoy most (apart from teaching you) is yoga, running and cooking. I find when I am not going these things, my life is less exciting and I am often wandering around trying to find other ways to pass the time. That doesn't mean I am always running or cooking, just that they are the integral planning blocks of my day and week.

Take time to consider what you will blog about and what you hope to learn from this experience. For me, I would like to observe the connection between my cooking and physical activity, as well sharing some of my favourite recipes with you all in the hope that you may learn to enjoy cooking also!

Good luck and enjoy!
